Cool shot, Jim! I knew that was DPP before I read your caption. Been far to long!!
What I wanted to say was that a bright sunny day makes it very challenging to handle. The filtered sunlight does provide more punch if it can be handled. I have other images (taken at a different time) where the sunlight was harsher and it didn't work well.Jameel, very nice image. I like the way you handled the light in this. I disagree with you that cloudy light is better for this location. Most of my better images are with the filter sunlight adding to the image, I guess to each their own.
Yes, you're right bright light can really mess with a shot. You did a great job on this one. What I wanted to say was that a bright sunny day makes it very challenging to handle. I love this image, Jameel. Beautiful job.Sol Duc Falls in the Olympic Peninsula. Normally a cloudy day is ideal for shooting here. Sun filtering thru tests the DR capabilities. This is a single shot, no blending.
This is a great perspective of this area, Jim. Very nice.
This is really interesting, Andrey. Some contributions this week, Alan is obviously into something with this thing...

Another nice one, Rick.Nothing spectacular, but a set of rapids above Nooksack falls Hwy 542 on way to Artist Point, one fall morning.View attachment 7198
Beautiful series, Kyle. Welcome home. Here's a 5 image panorama from the upper viewpoint of the Rob Roy Glacier Track in New Zealand's Mount Aspiring National Park. I decided to go for maximizing the quantity of waterfalls in my contribution this week. The larger fall to the left is referred to as yet another "Bridal Veil Falls" and for scale is reported as 261 meters tall.

And just for grins, another shot of Bridal Veil Falls framed by trees at the lower viewpoint.

I really like the blue in the waterfall, Ben. Very nice image. Thanks for starting this again Alan. Is that shot of Multnomoah after the fire? If so it seems to have escaped.
Here is one of mine from along the McKinzie hwy. Maybe somebody knows the name of it. Most years I am comming home from Oregon this hwy is closed, and last time a bridge was down forcing a 100 mile detour.

You could have fooled me, Monika. This image was made for B&W.Such a classic waterfall! I haven't seen it since 1977 or so.
Here's another classic but from Iceland: Gulfoss. This isn't a monochrome -- just the colors or lack of that day.

I really like this soft light and the pastel colors, Alan. I have tried to shoot these falls with considerably less success than this. It's Wednesday so time for more waterfalls.
News from the Columbia River Gorge - they are removing the chain link fence around the lower viewing area for Multnomah Falls as of this weekend so you can now view the falls again directly. The old highway is still closed along with all hiking trails that lead from it. There are no dates being projected for opening any of the closed trails and the old highway and the general consensus in the news was not to count on them opening this year.

The grand old dame of the Columbia River Gorge. Taken Christmas Day 2009.
Pile on with your own images.
Love the colors here.Just got back from California and I can see I have been left in the dust with all of these beautiful images. I'll get to them individually soon.
This image is of Bond Falls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was taken in the fall and is just a small section of a larger ledge.
