Dawn on the fishing pier

I like the light and the comp but the planks in the foreground on the pier leave it feeling like it's off balance with the slant to the left. Not sure if this is just the point of view for the pier or the pier itself isn't level. The water line is hidden behind the pier rails so no point of reference there.

I like it, but also feel Alans qualms.
Thanks Ben & Alan. The light ,Comp and feel to it is what I was aiming for. I was aware after working with it in LR. I'm asuming it was a combination of the WA distortion and not being centered on the pier. It's something I will be aware of next time!!! LMAO:D I'm still a newbie and working on that learning from mistakes thing.

It would be easy to correct in LR - since the waterline is hidden behind the pier railings you have a lot of room to play with the tilt angle to get a pleasing dock. That's harder to do when the waterline is visible since our eyes always use that as a point of reference.

I went back and tried different things in LR, this is what I came up with. Oh, and I already updated the first post with new Image

Hey Joe,

This looks pretty cool!

But I was confused because I couldn’t see in the photo the issues that Ben and Alan brought up. Then scrolling I read that you replaced the original with the edit. When we do edits, it’s best to add the edit below the original so we as a viewer can make sense of the suggestions made by people and see how they worked out. :)

Thanks Jim. I was trying to keep my flickr account looking somewhat normal sorry. I replaced it back but changed the setting on flickr, just let me know if you see it there!
