Flight of A Bumblebee

Nice catch.

I am at least a little curious about your exposure settings and lens length for this image. I am left feeling like I would love to see a little more detail in this bug.

I used a 300 mm lens, had the aperture set at 5.6 for short depth of field with a shutter speed of 1/3600 sec. Thanks for your feedback.

ISO? Can you bump it a bit to allow a higher f/stop for more DoF with at least the same or maybe even a slightly faster shutter speed? Your focus as dead on for the closer part of the bumblebee. You shouldn't need all that much DoF with 300mm but this feels just a touch shallow for what you might be able to capture.

Hey Roger, what a really cool shot. Catching a bee is pretty good work. From my experience by the time I get my camera up to shoot the bee has already buzzed off.

So for me, I say well done!

I am also very impressed with catching a bee in flight and having anything in focus. Good job.

that's a viable option, I will try this next time.
