Here's one from the Oregon Coast, I think the lack of color can expresses more drama...

Nice one Eric! The dunes in Death Valley can look so cool in B&W.

Lovely black and white images posted so far, here are a few of mine from the mountains. _DSF0723-2 cropped.jpg _DSF0726-2.jpg _DSF5685 from C1.jpg . The first 2 from the Aiguille Rouge range in France taken long after the sun had set and the last the very much lower but no less dramatic Buachaille Etive Mor in Scotland Ken

Jim this is one of the most photographed locations in Scotland. If you ever feel like returning just ask and I will point you at a few locations in my homeland. Ken

Wonderful monochromes everyone. Zeph's Oregon coast shot is my favorite so far.

I shoot more B&W film than color (and film's all I've been shooting as far as landscapes go for the last few years) 'cause it's cheaper and more versatile. Plus I love the classic simplicity of seeing in B&W.

I'm reaching here for black and whites. I'm no expert at that kind of processing at all.

I think I did this first one because reality was so monotone that evening anyway. One of my favorite Arches memories however. The snow was pounding down, there was absolutely no one in the park, not a tire track anywhere. Just putting around in my Jeep, evening setting in. That doesn't happen much anymore.
    _DSC1108-2500-X2.jpg

Then this second one I was trying to make like an old time style photograph. The cows were just hunkering down in the wind and blowing snow...
    _DSC6429_1-X2.jpg

And this one isn't really a true black & white. The fog was so thick that I just barely captured the outline of Balanced Rock.
