An image taken during the late snows in England, March this year. I couldn't drive on the roads but was lucky enough to have places within walking distance. The falling snow gave me the opportunity to simplify what is usually a busy scene. _DSC5172-4.jpg
    First post here. Ken

Fantastic in every way. I can't tell if you've converted to B&W or the falling snow transformed the scene naturally.

It is converted to B & W Jim but having just looked at the original RAW file in colour the background trees have a max saturation of 2% and the foreground tree has a saturation of approx 12% in a brownish tone. Overall in colour it looks like a very subtle warm shadow split toned image. I will post images that I have left in full colour taken during the period of snow that also look like B & W until you look closely. Ken

    Welcome to FocalWorld Ken!

This is an awesome scene, love the look the snow gives and it's great seeing photo from England. We don't get too many from over there so this is quite a treasure.

Thanks very much. I hope to keep up this standard but unfortunately doubt it. More images to come from this side of the Ocean. Ken

Thanks everyone who took the time to reply in such an encouraging manner. I do not know if people usually post a thank you to every reply or post none or, as here, post a general thank you. I hope that you enjoy the different style and locations of a British photographer. I do appreciate any critiques, positive or negative and although I may notalways agree with your viewpoints I will analyse them. Ken

    Hey Ken,

However you want to reply is up to you. Some people like replying back individually to each person, some people will use the quote button to then reply back to multiple people but it will be in one post instead of individual posts, and some people just pick a few of the comments to reply back to.

Whatever and however you want is fine with us. I know some places can really get hung up on something as simple as how replies are made. We try not to sweat the little stuff here. :)

This appears simple at first but the weather hides a nice depth leading into the scene. Nicely done and welcome!

    Welcome to FW!
    What a great artistic piece.
After you've set the bar that high, it will come with lots of expectations...
