Wow.... I stopped to shoot the sunset, then after I found the moon setting and I shot it, and after the moon set I shot the stars... I could auto focus on the stars!!!! Never ever ever never could I do that before!!!! The D850 is already blowing my socks off!
On my way to New Mexico I chased the sunset just past Kingman Arizona off into Hualapai Mtn Park. So I got a chance to finally shoot with my new D850. I was just so jazzed shooting it with shooting the stars being the cherry on the whipped cream on top of the ice cream!
I have been able to focus onto the moon, Venus, the North Star, but just to sum it at the sky and just pick out any dimly lit star and auto focus? That just never happened.
Most of you know I still don’t use Liveview, I still just prefer focusing through the viewfinder. Now the D850 seems to have finally upped Nikons weak Liveview game, so maybe I will try playing with it in the future, but for now I prefer to focus the old fashioned way. Well sort of old fashioned...
Anyway, that was the excitement of my first day on the road.
