I had to go all the way back to 2013 to find any waves. This is Tenaya Lake in Yosemite. We stopped here to shoot a few on our way into the park. The date of arrival was Sept. 30, 2013. The next day, the park was closed due to the government shutdown of 2013, a brief affair by Trumpian standards. They let us stay the night but we had to leave the next morning. Our Plan B was San Francisco which I hadn't visited since 1968 (in a whole different capacity).

Being a land locked Coloradan and going mostly to deserts & mountains, I had to stretch to find a wave (besides The Wave & things named after it I mean). Aldeyjarfoss in Iceland creates a standing wave at its base.

This is really cool Monika!

But.... it's also clear that you need to come and make a visit to our awesome SoCal beaches and get some photos of some real waves! :)

In case it isn't obvious, that's me... We were warned not to get the water in our eyes or mouth. It was windy which gave us waves. It was hard work not letting my head go under water.
I kind of figured that, but I wasn't sure.
