Above the Inn - Where the Wildflowers Were

The slopes about Paradise Inn in Mt. Rainier National Park have quite a few interconnected trails and after spending the first of the morning shooting waterfalls I decided to take a stroll around the meadows. When hiking towards Rainier with the sun at my back the colors were quite nice but when I turned around to look down the mountain the backlighting made the colors explode so I spent some time figuring out compositions featuring the colors on the leaves of wildflowers that were no longer blooming but still putting on a show.

They are definitely backlit very nice! It's a good thing you turned around.

One of the things that I enjoy about the Paradise area is all of those trails and how they all interconnect. It's almost like a puzzle or a maze, and I found it fun.

Thanks Jim - I have wandered quite a bit on those trails in previous visits but I have never done the full skyline loop. This was along one of the interconnects above the Inn area.
