Alternatives to the iPhone native app

I just got the iphone 15 Pro. I need your guidance on the native app vs an alternative (e.g. Halide Mark II) for landscape photography when I am not lugging around 20 lb of gear. The app needs to support what we need for landscape photography - RAW, slow shutter speed, manual control, etc. No need for video or image editing support. I rarely shoot video and I prefer to edit in LR/PS. Thanks in advance.

I have my iPhone 15 Pro set up to shoot in RAW and then import the DNG file(s) into LR for all of my edits.

One thing to bear in mind is that these cameras don't take images in ways we are accustomed to with DSLR/mirrorless gear where we press the shutter and expose our scene to the sensor. By the time you get your finger off of the button the iPhone took between 8-12 images and uses these to compute the image that will become your DNG output. The concept of wanting a 1s exposure for a waterfall doesn't apply here. There is a sort of burst mode where you can take a bunch of continuous shots to do layer blending back on your computer but I haven't found it a convincing replacement for my DSLR when doing waterfall imagery.

I do shoot with my iPhone 15 Pro a lot since it's a very reasonable camera that's always in your pocket.

Thanks. when u say DNG, do u mean u r using the Lightroom camera or the native camera app? Native app supports 2 formats: PureRAW 12 MP and PureRAW Max.

I am set for ProRAW Max. I take the photos on the iPhone but when I get home I plug the phone into my computer and import the desired RAW captures directly into Lightroom on my home computer. I don't bother with Adobe's iPhone software at all. If you really want to cut Apple's twiddling out you can add Linear camera profiles into Lightroom and switch out the native Apple ProRAW camera profile.
