#1 April, Borrowdale, English Lake District. This is one tree in my favourite copse of trees backlit against the dark hillside with the Spring colours just starting.
#1 new life Borrowdale.jpg

#2 June, Mid Wales. Frustrating to shoot as many people were taking selfies and I have had to patch multiple images together to make them disappear.
#2 Pistyll Rhaeadr.jpg

#3 July Pool of Light. Glen Bruar, Central Scotland. Proud to have spotted this small waterfall amongst the many much larger ones in this small glen. The low water levels have added to the scene.

#4 July, Aberfeldy, Central Scotland. My third visit to this location and I found a new stretch of river to photograph. Low water levels again and the bright green of summer foliage both things that I usually don't like.
#4 Aberfeldy-sorted.jpg

#5 August. Dragonfly in a Cumbrian swamp. This is my first macro insect photograph that I am proud of, still a way to go though.
#5 Dragonfly.jpg

#6 October, Derwentwater, English Lake District. Another example of spotting an image although most people would either not notice it or even if they did would not think it worthy of pressing the shutter.
#6 Birch trees starting to change.jpg

#7 October, Kelly Hall Tarn, English Lake District. Probably the easiest photograph to take, everything falls into place and the light was glorious.
#7 Kelly Hall Tarn.jpg

#8 November, Loch an Ealachan, Highland Scotland. A 3 hour walk across rough snow filled countryside looking for any foreground interest to complement the snow sprinkled mountains.
#8 Loch nan Ealachan.jpg

#9 November, Lochan an Ais, Highland Scotland. The end of a great day of tramping across pathless country with a soft sunset to add to the natural beauty.
#9 Sunset Lochan an Ais.jpg

#10 December, Derwentwater, English Lake District. Waiting for the mist to lift and for a brief instant the far pine trees revealed themselves across the Lake. A few minutes later and the mist disappeared and took the magic with it.

Wonderful set Ken - you had a very rewarding photographic year. As Ben said - this is a tough act to follow. Nice work.

Great work on all, #3 is my favorite - a perfect example of your pool of light technique that applies an artistic vision to what otherwise would have been a rather bland photo.

Wow Ken! You could print a magazine with the quality of these photos. You had a great year despite the pandemic.

All of these are awesome in my eyes, but 3 of them really stood out to me. #1, 2, 4, and 7. Those are the cream of the crop for me.

Very generous Jim. I only found #4 when trying to put together my top10. I saw the never processed RAW file and thought that it might look good. I need to thank my wife for #4 as I was walking along a path back to the car and she went off exploring and came back and showed me this hidden gem. Ken

I knew I needed to wait until I had some time on a large screen for these. I'll go with 1, 3, 5 and 7 as my favorites. The backlit tree has such a nice, painterly feel in the first and the waterfall in 3 is very nicely lit as well. I think you did a great job with the dragonfly and love the webs on the flower. 7 is just my kind of scene with the mountains, lake, light and colors. Nice work.

Excellent images Ken. #10 stood out to me when you shared it, but that might be recency bias. #3 and #7 also really stand out to me.

All are nice, but your pool of light work is your signature and this is a gorgeous example that really showcases some beautiful rock.
