No. 1: Yosemite National Park was a big part of my 2022. I finally understand why my parents consistently visit this park and drug me with them on hikes here. I actually thanked them this summer for dragging me along with them during my childhood. This image is of the Glenn Aulin trail in Tuolumne Meadows.
No. 2: North Fork Big Pine Creek in the Inyo National Forest. This image is of Temple Crag and its reflection in Second Lake.
No. 3: Upper Cathedral Lake in Yosemite NP. I met my dad at the trailhead for this hike. He was sick, but he soldiered on and was glad he did. I'm glad he did.
No. 4: I joined a Southern California motorcycle club on a 300-mile ride to Julian, CA in the spring. It was my first time riding with 9 other bikers. We rode by the Salton Sea, Anza Borrego State Park and eventually returned to Palm Springs via State Route 74.
No. 5: My parents and I climbed Clouds Rest in Yosemite. That was one challenging hike, but I had the privilege of seeing this view with my own eyes. It was my final major hike of the summer.
No. 6: I was able to tour the aftermath of massive flash floods in and around Death Valley National Park in September.
No. 7: On a walk to Rainbow Falls in Devil's Postpile National Monument this summer, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a young hawk devouring a freshly caught chipmunk. I sat down and watched it for a good 25 minutes.
No. 8: I stumbled upon Multnomah Falls and the rest of the Columbia River Gorge during a particularly wet spring in the PNW. These falls sounded like a jet engine combined with a roller coaster.
No. 9: I saw some crazy sunsets and sunrises this year in the Eastern Sierra, like this one at Mono Lake. This is where I met Jim!
No. 10: I stumbled upon the Hunewill Ranch cattle drive in Bridgeport, CA right before a massive November snowstorm.
