Bus on a Hill

I went to Cathedral Gorge in Nevada last week on my way back to California, and spotted this cool bus on a little mound. So I had to stop. It looks cool in natural color, but I thought it also might look cool in IR.

This is 590nm IR, with the Color Swap. When doing the Color Swap, usually the blues at least for me tend to be a bit of a more green/blue which I will tweak later to give it a more real blue look. But in this case, I thought leaving it with the more green/blue gave the image a more old time feel.

Nikon D7100 converted to 590nm

I have some faded ektachrome slides that aren't too far off of this palette :) Nice find - a little buffing and it will be as good as new.....

And it looks well positioned for an astro shoot!
Thanks Michael. It could work for Star trails as I am looking to the North here. I don't recall if there was a fence here. The problem might be it's right off US 93.

But that's a great idea, hopefully I swing back through there again, and I can look closer as to how well that might work for the Milky Way.
