Early Colors

There was a lot of variation in how far along the fall leaf changes were in different parts of Silver Falls State Park last week and counterintuitively the upland areas were still in early stages while the lowlands were almost past peak. This is from the upland area at the north end of the park along the Perimeter Trail. I was captivated by the backlit moss on the maple branches.
