I've been back-country skiing with Eric for almost 30 years now. I think this is one of the best environmental portraits I've gotten of him in his element. Taken on the Cowlitz Glacier on Mt. Rainier last week. The summer corn snow was perfect - firm base, with fast slightly slushy corn surface that our skis sliced through like butter. True hero conditions that got him grinning and whooping with joy as he flew down the mountain.
