A friend of mine from work invited me out to His place in Cherry Grove on Fire Island. July fourth they have an event called " Invasion" . He said I should bring my Camera and so I did. Not sure what to expect or how I was going to shoot it was a trip within it's self:) I don't shoot people or events plus on top of that I'm not used to my new camera was just more of a chalange. Overall the event is something to experience and I had a lot of fun. More on this even can be read here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invasion_of_the_Pines.

All C&C appreciated

That is quite the different activity. Lot's of color and almost a carnival type feel Joe. You did well I think in trying to capture the feel of it. #3 and 5 are my favorites.

How are you liking that EOS R so far?

Thank you Jim. I really like it so far. Landscape wise this is fantastic and so easy comming from my 80D. Wildlife and this event is taking some getting used to because the buttonns and controls are not where I'm used to. also the focusing dots are taking some time to get right so it's easy to miss focus right now. But when they are on this thing nails focus dead on:D. The evf takes some getting used to also. That's all in due time. File wise, I loved my 80D but I get more detail and better color and dynamic range with the R! sorry for being long winded about it.

Looks like you did a great job on these.
Quite the interesting series.
Thank you, I realize this is not everyones cup of tea. I have many gay friends, not dragqueens so I'm used to it. But everyone there could not have been nicer. It was a fun day, the meaning of the day pushed me to capture it a little different . I wanted to portray the pride and joy of the day. I appreciate the kind words.

Definitely a colorful scene - both for the characters as well as the visuals. Is a this part of Gay Pride events?
Thank you Alan. the timing is not on purpose. In 1976 A dragqueen from Cherry Grove tried to get into the bar in the Pines( Neighboring town) It was also a gay bar, but more of the refined kind so the shoed him away. When he got back to cherry Grove with his friends they planned to all dress up and invaid the bar by way of sea Taxi. They let the whole group stay , it was on the 4th of july. It became an event from that. In 1976 I don't think there was a pride month.
