mavic 3 controller issue update

we have some mavic 3s at work. we tried pairing them with the standard controller and various ipads. they either don't connect at start up or loose connection during flight. it's a known issue, dji is working on it. in the meantime, we've shelved that portion of our fleet. we've been testing an rc pro controller with one of the mavic 3 drones, so far the rc pro controller works really well with it. it's also nice not to have to fiddle with connecting a bunch of parts together, you just put the antennas up and turn it on.

How are your Mavic 3's doing for getting satellite GPS locks? I have read about a lot of the Mavic 3s taking upwards of 5-10 minutes to get locks on enough satellites to fly.

The Pro controller screen is smaller then am iPad but it’s brighter, so for me that is a plus actually on bright days.

no satellite issues with the mavic 3. but yes, when we've had connection issues we lose all of our satellites. i flew a matrice 210 yesterday and had 19 satellites, a few minutes later i flew the mavic 3 and had 18 satellites. it's normal to have 2 or 3 satellites difference, we require 12 satellites for our flight policy.

i don't mind the smaller screen. sometimes the ipad is too big to look at. i used a crystal sky screen yesterday on the matrice, which has a hood to screen it from the sun. it was just to show off the flir capabilities. but there was no screen hood on the rc pro and it looked just as good, even in open sun.

with my limited experience with the rc pro, i'd buy an rc pro controller for my personal drone, if i had a drone that was compatible.
