My wife and I were in Mt Dora Fl for a wedding last weekend (Same town as the bubble's were taken) and we had the morning to kill so we stopped at a local park where I took these radom shots.
Pretty park (and town) Hignly recommend.

My other bird images I will post in wings Wed!

This bird was cropped at least 50%. Experimenting with how much crop I can apply before the noise takes over with the full frame sensor on the R8

Fun set - I like your Picture of the Picture. Pretty nice bird shots as well. Getting a wide depth of field when shooting a subject that's close is a difficult task. The old rule of thumb was to use a high f/stop and focus 2/3 the distance between the closest object in the frame and the object in the back. Easier to do using manual focus but if you can mentally find something in the frame that fits the distance requirement focus on it using a half press of the shutter and then while still holding the shutter half way down frame the shot as desired and squeeze off the shot.

I was curious what gets the name of Mount in Florida so I looked the place up. I had to double check I was using Terrain as the map style since there weren't any topo lines but I did find a note about a spot near the Mt Dora trail that said 150' 🤣

That looks like a very fun place Ed! You are doing well in getting used to your new camera.

Your photo of the sketching is really good, and the last one I like a lot of that bird.

That's a nice looking lighthouse you captured with your wife in it. I am not sure if there was space for you to stand, but one fun thing to do with lighthouses is to position yourself so that the sun is behind the top area where the glass is, and so when you shoot it, it feels like the lighthouse is on and working.

The mtn height was the going joke of the town as well as the lighthouse (which was on a lake). I asked why it was built or what purpose it served and was told it was just for tourists. It did light up but it wasn't very bright
