My Best Local Aurora Shots

Too tied up with local activities these days to travel very far away from home, but with the G4 level Geomagnetic Storm last night I had to drive out of the neighborhood and see what I could see. Earlier in the night I had been up on the roof and could see aurora in the electronic viewfinder so I knew the activity was high. Later in the evening things seemed to have calmed down a little visually, but the camera was able to still detect lots of activity. This is less than 5 minutes from my house, at about 12:30 am local time, looking roughly north.

Shot with the Laowa RF 15mm f/2, wide open, ISO 1600 and 4 secs. Comments and critiques welcome.

Adding one from earlier in the night. Moon was brighter as it was behind some clouds for the shot posted above that was later in the night. This looks Northwest over town from a different vantage point, with lots of other folks out enjoying the spectacle.

Sweet - wish we could have seen something like that up in the Pacific NW. I love the color show in the first image.

Nice curtains in both. Probably a corona in #2 if you could have been underneath looking up.
