Night Encroaches

I took this in Yosemite during this time of year a few years ago. I probably got more "keepers" that evening than any other day in my photography experience. My original goal was to hike to Cathedral Lakes for sunset, but a recent snowstorm made that an impossibility. I ended up settling for a beautiful afternoon near Pothole Dome, an amazing sunset at Olmsted Point, and then some nice night shooting.

This was taken after sunset at Olmsted Point. I'm pretty sure the bright "star" is Venus.
