Salvage Saturday

This was peak color from my first night in Wanaka, New Zealand several years ago. The image was published in Landscape photography magazine a few months ago, but I always felt like I had overcooked it. The color was so impressive I really wanted it to stand out.

I reprocessed it last weekend to tone it down, remove some of the magenta cast it had, and bring out some detail in the tree.

And while I was at it I processed another from that night too

From last September and my favourite waterfall. The original had a bright orange rock in the foreground and it just grabbed my attention, so I have removed it. I have also taken more care with my processing this time. I really should have focus stacked the image as the top of the cliffs is a little soft but Topaz sharpen has helped. Ken

Perfect job Ken looks plenty sharp to me. Knowing your attention to detail I am not surprised you found areas to improve
