Sunrise in the Adirondacks

We've been bereft of clouds this fall, but the forecast called for some clouds at sunrise, so I took a sunrise drive to the Southern Adirondacks, and about 25 seconds from my arrival, the clouds lit up with some mist in the foreground.

Well done on heading out and catching this. Gorgeous light and I love the smokey mist catching the colour from the clouds. I particularly like the first one with the ridges and layers leading to the hill and great sky.

Thanks to you all for the kind comments. I live in a small community in the valley, and to get out to catch a decent sunrise, it's nearly an hour drive, and 6-7 times out of 10, sunrise amounts to nothing. It's rare to get this kind of color; harder yet when you're trying to do it on a weekday before work. Oh, but the occasional reward makes it all worthwhile.
