The Real Dallas Divide

In winter white at sunrise, this is from the real Dallas Divide. The parking area and view spot that 99% of all people stop at and shoot from, really isn't the Dallas Divide. It's close, but the real Dallas Divide is just a bit further up the road.

Another winter scene with the spiraling type sunrise clouds. The feel almost lenticular in it's edges. I was working the small creek area as I haven't really any winter shots from there with any water running. In fact, I haven't seen many winter photos from here at all really, so the last couple of years I have been purposely making trips into this area to capture it with snow.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Amazing scene, looks like stacked lenticular clouds that caught some fantastic light. The snow and play of light on the snow just adds to it..

Looks brisk but that is to be expected at altitude this time of year. Good color show in the clouds - just the right amount of highlights and the tint to the reflections on the snow in front adds to the effect.

Really like this one. Lovely color in the clouds! Also like the subtle color reflected off the snow. Keeps your attention.

Thanks Alan! It was definitely cold, close to freezing if I recall right.
