Thursday’s Task: Fence(s) in the landscape. My examples below:
Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN
Mormon Row Historic District, Grand Tetons National Park, WY
Farm, Fayette County, KY
Craig, a beautiful variety of images for this week’s task! Perhaps “The Ride Home” is my favorite but I also love “A Trace of Color” as well. The point of view of “Western Civilization” is very interesting and of course the snowy fence and landscape create a very nice image.A few fences... And a cheater fence...

Jameel, very nice landscapes, especially the colors in your second image and the almost monochromatic snowy landscape in your third.A few from me - I don't really have a lot of images of fences.

Ken, two very nice compositions you’ve presented—love your first image with the subdued color and reflections.I have difficulty with fences. I can see that the USA has lots of weathered, photogenic fences whereas here fences are modern and characterless so I go out of my way to avoid shooting them and if they creep in I often clone them out. We do have stone walls, usually many hundreds of years old and they look good to me. I have 1 exception to the no UK fences from a local area that I photograph often. This fence leading into Derwentwater is much photographed with people claiming that it make fabulous foreground interest, I disagree. One morning while waiting for the light I decided to photograph it and I still don't like it, the rest of the image is unspectacular but nice enough.

Alpine Germany still has wooden fences, much nicer than wire, this one from the Berchestgaden region of Bavaria from the days when I could cycle across much of Europe.

Alan, wonderful series of images! I especially favor the Grand Teton images. I also like the close view of the Japanese Garden too! The Elk Meadows image has a serene quality I really like as well.Elk Meadows in the Nelson Drury Parkway, California Redwoods:

Dan, the Halls Valley foggy landscape is particularly nice—love the composition and subdued colors. The B&W “Fenced in Oak” is perhaps my favorite—very nice landscape. I like ”Fence Line & Oaks” as well—nice composition. I noticed in the Civil War reenactment the fence didn’t provide much cover.Well, I'm fenced in by this one!
