Good morning - time for more falling water :)

Wahkeena Falls is kind of like an old friend to me since I have shot there so many times and I was anxious to see what things looked like up there once they reopened the Historic Highway back up about a month ago. This is what I got to see:

Happily the flames from the Eagle Creek fire left all of the lower portions of the falls intact so the view from below looks like it used to. Descriptions I have read say that this up the trail isn't so pristine but this is what I got to shoot from below.

Pile on with your own falling water.

I have a feeling that lots of people will dislike this treatment but I like it. Plodda falls are pretty high for Scotland at 140ft but difficult to photograph, too far away and they are blocked by trees, too close and the spray soaks the lens instantly. There is an easy access about 2/3rd of the way down, access from the bottom is all but impossible although one ends up perched 50ft above the river on a narrow and none too safe ledge. Comments welcome even if it is not liking the very stark monochrome treatment. Ken

Super nice color, Alan! Especially since the temperature has been in the teens & 20s and snowing like it's January or February.....
Here is the lower part of Tumalo Falls.

I have done a similar treatment to falls, so I like it, particularly the splash at the entrance to the pool.

I love it Ken! This is super cool, and I love the way you pushed the envelope here. Can you post it in it's own thread sometime in the next week or so? I really want to make this one a Daily Featured.
