Thanks Jim, I had taken my youngest daughter up there to shoot with me. I was standing watching her taking a picture and turned and saw these 2 young trees with the lake ahd forest behind and it said shoot me; and of course I did! ;)
I was approaching a grassy lake edge at a local park, when I spotted several ducks nestled down in the long grass. as I approached closer to the area one of the mallards stood up in a sunny spot and posed for me for several minutes. The other ducks remaind hunkered down in the tall grass...
I took this photo of a flower in a neightbor's yard. They did nothave a name for the bloom and seri knowledge identified the plant as Scarlet Beebalm or a species Monad Didyme. Beats me! o_O
I was playing with a telephoto lens to isolate the day lily shooting in bright daylight. It worked well in this case as the background went completely black when the lily was exposed correctly.

Thanks Jim for the comments and I agree the Indian Peaks area is fun. I can't drag my old legs very far up those trails any more, but I keep trying! :)
The problem now is you have have a reserved time slot to get up to the trail head, a real bummer. No long ago the only problem was getting...

A nice summenr day in mid-July at Red Rock Lake. Clouds forming over the Indian Peak Mountains in the background make a nice backdrop for the lake framed in evergreen trees.
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
