Thursday’s Task

I have a lot to choose from as long as the mood is gloomy. All from Skye early October. Ken

Sligachan Bridge as yet another squall flies in. 4 days later I saw images posted where the river was above the arches on the 2 outside spans, I don't think that I would be walking across it in those conditions. I photographed Lealt Falls on the same day and the sun made an appearance

One of the small rivers flowing down from the Cuillin. When the weather is this bad I just get dressed properly and go for a walk, the alternatives, sit in a small tent or go to the pub and I leave those for the hours of darkness.

Beautiful and moody series Ken! I favor the second image for its simplicity of composition and beautiful palette—nice! The third image’s dynamic foreground leading to the monochromatic mountains and sky—also very nice! Love them both.

I have a collection of shots with various amounts of fog/mist/clouds that add to the moodiness of the scenes.

Beautiful collection Alan! Perhaps my favorite is the Ruby Beach image—love the layering of rocks from foreground to horizon, great composition! I love the misty image of the Portland Japanese Garden too. I also favor your leading image, the Westport Landing landscape, with the broken road leading to the misty beauty beyond.

Another great task, John. Fog seems to be the common denominator. So here are some foggy images.

Fog on snow.

Doug, beautiful images but I haven’t the “foggiest” idea which is my favorite (sorry!). Seriously, I love the “Fog on the snow” image for its colors and compositional simplicity. The “New Hampshire Fog” and the “Porcupine Mountain Fog” are also two of my favorites.

Wow!
Okay—I’ll add further comments! I love the “Enshrouding” image—red rock, snow, and foggy mist creates a memorable landscape, perhaps my favorite. The Dead Horse Point landscape is also an impressive image…with the title or not! I love the warm and cool color contrast of “Light’s Last Glimmering”—also a special image as well. I also favored your B&W image of your Arches landscape—very nice too.
