Derwentwater part 2

I was waiting for the mist to shift as the most exciting opportunities usually occur just at the transition from mist to sun but initially all that happened was the clouds dropping down with the distant fells bathed in sunshine, I just kept photographing the Cormorant.


After 30 minutes, the mist started to clear


Despite the temperatures I decided to wait until the sun got high enough to light up the islands. This showed that some Autumn colours remained. The next 2 images were taken with a polariser and it alters the colour balance especially the blues.




A small flight of geese and this was the end of my photography for the day 90 minutes after the start. Drove home for a second breakfast. Ken

Reflection heaven. I really like how the images with the polarizer turned out and the remaining fall colors are delightful.

You must have carefully adjusted the polarizer as you still got some really nice reflections along with the color in the trees. It was fun to watch the transition during your 90 mins Ken. That's a really great location. Your last image might be my favorite. It's tighter and the geese add a nice touch I think.
