Thursday’s Task

Thursday’s Task: 2023-2024 Image memories and aspirations. My examples below:

Circumstances prevented travel to the Northwest or Southwest for visits in 2023. The examples below are from earlier pursuits. We hope to rectify this in 2024!

Snow in nearby Concord Park. Glad I captured this since this much accumulation is rare in East Tennessee.



Grand Teton National Park, WY. Fortunate to have seen this scene on a second trip to the park. More frequent visits to areas previously visited yield overlooked or undiscovered photographic opportunities.

A second visit to Badlands National Park, SD created the opportunity for further exploration.

2023 wasn't a particularly good year for me and my main goal for this year is to get out to the southern Oregon coastline with my Mavic 3 Pro drone. A shot I did get from the Central OR coastline from the Seal Rock area:



And one from my old Mavic 2 Air in 2022 along the area I want to revisit with the new drone cameras on my current drone:

The highlight for this year was a trip to the Canadian Rockies.

Very beautiful images Doug, your Canadian Rockies captures are gorgeous—and love the reflections! I especially love the first three images!

2023 has been a crazy year for me all around. I did a trip in May to Alaska for the first time. It was a family trip in which I was able to squeeze in some time to take some pictures. I definitely want to plan another trip there - the Mavic 3 Pro would see quite a bit of action there. Here are some from this trip.

I guess first some memories...

1) A morning with a moose in the Tetons


2) An enjoyable backpacking trip with high school classmates to a lightly traveled part of Glacier


My main goal for 2024 is to see the Aurora in my trip to Norway in February. The image below from Glacier is as close as I've come so far

Jameel, I'm so glad you were able to make it to Alaska and hope you are able to again. Love the Alaskan collection you've shared––especially the second and third! Look forward to seeing more images from future trips.

Kyle, your Tetons image––with an obliging moose model, certainly creates a memorable image! Great image! The Glacier Park image is another well composed capture enhanced by a perfect reflection. Nice! And we look forward to seeing Aurora landscapes FocalWorld posts in the near future! The Glacier Park Aurora "teaser" is a special capture nevertheless!
