The weather is changing here in Summerland, CA. Clouds are moving in and rain is expected by this evening. I woke up before the sun and looked out the window to see gray but broken clouds. I decided to get up and walk down to the beach in the hopes that the sun might find a clearing in the clouds for some sunrise color. I was a about to give up. In fact, I was on my phone checking email. I casually looked up and the sky was on fire. It only lasted a few moments but glad I was there to capture it.

It's amazing how it sometimes looks hopeless, then it suddenly turns spectacular, then back to hopeless again, all within a few moments! But you were prepared and got the goods! F8 and be there.

Perfect conditions for a whole sky color show - an incoming storm but clear to the east. Nice time to be an early riser although you are likely used to sunrise being a couple of hours earlier.

Super cool Bob! I like that driftwood in this, is that the same one you got the other day?

And it's neat how the color poked out for you.

PCH finally opened up the whole way along the coast a few weeks ago, are you planning any drives up along Big Sur?

We're only here for six days and leave for home tomorrow. It's been a great week and the photo gods smiled upon me. I have no idea if this is the same log or not. With the tides, who knows.
