A Two Volcano Sunrise

After a long drought of endless gray mornings I got a really nice sunrise yesterday and was able to get quite a few nice captures of the show. This image came out of a 7 shot telephoto panorama at 70mm showing Mt. St. Helens on the left and Mt. Adams in the distance on the right. A moderate haze contributed to the distant colors. Best viewed on a wide screen at full size. Its a bit wide as a panorama but this was just barely wide enough to include both volcanos.

Thanks Jeffrey - its been a while since we had a good colorful sunrise like this.

Nice light and the two mountains as bookends to this image makes an interesting pano.

Thanks Jameel - more to come from earlier in the sunrise with more color. It was nice to see a good one again.

Thanks John - it was a nice view through the camera screen as well. Sadly I can't see this view directly from my deck as the houses and trees are too tall. It takes at least 130' above my house to see the horizon like this but this was closer to 390'.

I like the Mt St Helens side better. That would look fine at a 1:1 crop!

Thanks Michael - I might have some better shots of St. Helens alone that would work even better. A 1:1 is a bit too close to fit the skies into the frame.

Super cool Alan. That's a pano to fit on a whole wall.

Thanks Jim - it would come close to filling a wall at full size. I have a lot more shots from this sunrise with St. Helens in a more prominent role.
