Waterfall Wednesday 8/26/2026

Nine years ago right around this time in late August @Kyle Jones posted a thread mentioning that waterfalls and Wednesdays seemed to go together. I decided that sounded like an interesting topic for an ongoing community thread and we have been doing this ever since. 🎂

My waterfalls for today are from much earlier than that with a "once upon a time" view of McCord Creek just below Elowah Falls which is barely visible on the right hand of this frame. The shot was taken in the spring with a relatively high flow for this creek and vegetation that wasn't fully leafed out yet. I say once upon a time because this area got scorched down to bare rock by the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire.

Pile on and lets keep the tradition alive :)

I guess I can share something for the anniversary. I have no idea if I've shared this view of Mossbrae before, but if I did it was long enough ago that nobody else would remember either.

I know I have seen images from these falls before but honestly can't recall this particular shot. Always a beautiful scene with these falls and the lush surroundings.

Happy Anniversary on your waterfall threads.

Here is a view of one of the waterfalls in the Boulder Creek area in Darrington, WA. This is just the lower part as it meets the creek. Taken in summer so the flow is not what it is earlier in the year.
I like how you rendered the water in the creek,

The summer flow rate here actually works quite well and I like the delicate touch it gives to the lower part of the falls. I agree with Kyle on how you rendered the water in the creek.

This is an unnamed waterfall along Goodale Creek in Inyo County, CA. It sits within the month-old Rock Fire burn scar. Congratulations on 9 years of Waterfall Wednesday, Alan.

Pretty stark looking scene after the wildfire but the water doesn't seem to care much and if anything we have a better view of the flow across the scene. It will be interesting to watch this area for what sprouts to restart the vegetation here.
