I doubt any sailor has suffered through any peril on this stretch of the Colorado River near Moab, Utah, but there are rapids in both directions eventually. 665nm converted Nikon DSLR.
Cambodia is a nation of Buddhists. Most all young men spend around 6 months in service, some stay years longer, some stay the rest of their lives. We saw them everywhere among the Temples of Angkor. The few nuns that I saw were considerably older. These were made back in February 2006 with my...
moss, (division Bryophyta), any of at least 12,000 species of small nonvascular spore-bearing land plants. Mosses are distributed throughout the world except in salt water and are commonly found in moist shady locations. They are best known for those species that carpet woodland and forest...
A relatively recent addition to the Goldfield, Nevada Cemetery - the 2019 final resting place of R.J. Gillum, beloved husband and father. A beautiful place to rest, especially if you love Joshua Trees! 590nm converted Nikon Z5.
Latourell Falls, in the Columbia River Gorge, shown here in 590nm Infrared. My normal processing usually includes a Red-blue channel swap to make the sky go blue, but here I omitted that step to show the colors my internal filter gives straight out of camera.
Between 1996 and 2006 I visited Cambodia three times. I never had more than a week in country each time, so I kept returning to visit different areas. These images were shot on Ektachrome slide film then scanned to digital files.
This young lady was just passing by as we had lunch at a...

Just Northwest of Page, Arizona is the area known as the New Wave. While not nearly as naturally beautiful as the original, it is way easier to get to and there is no lottery to win or fees to pay. 590nm converted Nikon Z5
Kind of looking through the bottom part of a keyhole, the semicircular ridge in the foreground makes a nice frame for this South Rim view in Grand Canyon NP.
This fixer-upper has quite the location, just needs a little TLC. This cottage is part of the remains of the Bonnie Claire mining site, on the east side of Death Valley NP.
This is Grosvenor Arch, just south of Kodachrome Basin State Park in Utah. Back in the day, when this area wasn't so well known, you could camp out right beneath the arch and watch the stars all night. Good times.
Northern Nevada, aka - the middle of nowhere. Ancient tufa deposit where extinct Lake Lahontan once was. This was my final trip with my d600 Nikon converted to 850nm. Memories!
