In mid-November 2024 my wife and I went to Iceland, for our 9-day Workshop there and an extra 8 days dedicated to my personal work.
Out of all our late 2024 destinations, Iceland was the one that worried me the most. Snowy and icy grounds, high speed winds, sand, moving water when photographing...
The first time I took off from Glasgow heading north towards Glencoe and the Isle of Skye, in 2009, I didn’t know how much that journey would have impacted and changed me. Leaving behind the bustling airport area, my wife and I passed the Erskine bridge and quickly got to the shores of Loch...
Hello everyone,
I am currently in Comacchio (Italy) in the river Po's delta running a Workshop, and thought this would be the perfect time to release a Portfolio of analog, 4x5" photographs I created here last December. You can find the full Portfolio on my Blog, here: COMACCHIO & PO DELTA: AN...
Hello everyone,
After months studying and preparing myself for the move back to analog photography, in early September 2024 my wife and I were ready to hit the road again. This time, after 15 years of doing professional landscape photography with digital cameras, from 35mm to digital backs with...
I think this is the year I dabble in a bit of BW. So here is another macro shot I took this morning of some frozen bubbles. The temps have been perfect to create these. A bit challenging but fun! CC Welcome!
Hello everyone, and apologies for the long absence - I have been extremely busy these last months, both with the usual stuff and especially with the preparations for a new step in my photographic journey: going back to analog, and in particular to 4x5" black & white photography. I have been...
Hey everyone! I just got back from over two weeks in the US leading Workshops, a week in Death Valley and one around the Southwest, and while I don't have any new images done yet, since I used my Phase One IQ4 Achromatic back pretty much exclusively during the trip, I got inspired to share some...
Hello everyone, here's four recent B&W shots of mine made in Iceland with the IQ4 Achromatic digital back & Phase One XT:
Thank you for viewing & commenting! Best regards,

Good morning everyone! I always loved B&W and created some of my most exhibited work with it, but lately I have been shooting even more in B&W, something that suits my mood and vision much better, these days.
Here are four B&W shots from the Faroe Islands:
Phase One IQ4 XT- Rodenstock HR 90mm...
Winter is not my favorite time of year to shoot landscapes in my area, but I was out touring the country side when the late afternoon light caught my eye as it illuminated the side of this corn silo.
Happy New Year friends! After spending time with family for Christmas I headed south to Sedona, AZ! I had a great time! I have been here once before but was on a time schedule to get back to the Grand Canyon before the snow fell. I had to go to Sedona because it was the only place I could pick...
Don't get me wrong, colours are great, but to me there just is something special in the graphic power of a B&W Fine Art landscape. Here two Dolomites landscape with human elements in them:
Hasselblad X1D II, Voigtlander Super-Wide Heliar 15mm. 181 sec.
Leica SL, Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16-35mm...
I love Dorset, with its mix of man-made landscapes and natural marvels. When the weather & light conditions are right, I love to portray Dorset's graphic rock formations and seascapes in black & white.
Kimmeridge Bay | 91 seconds, Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 30mm, Formatt-Hitech Firecrest...
Iceland's landscapes are very graphic & monochromatic in nature, with their black rocks & black sands covered by white snow & blue ice, and I love to portray them in B&W when the occasion arise. 51 seconds of exposure with my Hasselblad X1D II, Hasselblad XCD 45mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest...
Besides featuring some incredible landscapes, Cornwall, in the UK, is a testament to the mining past of the UK. Dotted with abandoned and ruined engines and mining sites, some of which have been turned into open air museums, together with the Atlantic skies the Cornish landscape offers endless...
