Just outside Greeley Colorado where my daughter lives the oldest granddaughter went out with me just before sunset to explore and find the sunset and we were surprised with the rising full moon. This is out in the farm area that is typical of much of Colorado where farms still surround all of...
Well, actually a 99.6% full moon, but I thought it was close enough. :)
I had gone out for sunset with my oldest granddaughter and while we were getting cool photos, we both kept an eye on the moon, and I shot it a few times with the landscapes. But.... I was looking forward to getting back to...
While I was doing a timelapse of the moon rise the other night, I took the time and grabbed a few still images also. This is one of them.
Don't forget to check out our Video section where most of the timelapses are placed. Also if you can Like them and even more importantly Subscribe and the...
This was one of those last minute ideas 2 days ago. Thank goodness they don't still have food samples at Costco (where I had been) or I would never have gotten there in time at all :)
Another work in progress, I see plenty to improve for next time but I like the general idea of timelapse with a...
Yesterday as I was watching the weather and realizing it was supposed to rain all day here, and seeing that Joshua Tree had better weather but still clouds, I decided at the last minute I better go take some moon shots. 99.3% is so close to full, I don't think I can even see the difference, so I...
On the night of the 4th of July I kept watching for the eclipse and granted it was supposed to be just a shadow that looked like a mouse had taken a bite out of the moon, but I never saw it. This was around midnight I think.

A lot of firework displays were canceled as Amy mentioned in her thread. I found a listing of 40 of them still being put on in Colorado. As I scrolled through the list the one thing I had in my mind was with the Prenumbral Lunar Eclipse happening after sunset, I thought perhaps I could shoot the...
This is the same Waxing Crescent Moon I posted yesterday but combined with the shadowed part of the moon. While I was shooting to expose the Crescent shape properly, I also bracketed down and overexposed to pull detail out of the shaded area of the moon. This is probably about 4 stops of...
It's raining more then it's not here in Southern California so with the stay at home order from the Coronavirus I wasn't able to get anywhere to capture the Super Pink Moon 2 nights ago. But I peaked out about 10pm last night and saw a break in the clouds and saw the moon. I grabbed my D850 and...
Despite still having a cold, I was determined to spend as much time in freezing cold as possible, so that meant shooting the moon rise at sunset. This was taken in Los Alamos in New Mexico. Not sure if the radiation from all of their labs affect magnetic north, but I had a few issues with...
I posted a couple of moon shots in the Astro forum from last night taken just west of Flagstaff. This is one with the moon and the San Francisco peaks. The moon is slightly enlarged, I may need to make it still a little smaller. Not sure, so any thoughts are welcome here. I figured this more as...
Got this shot Wednesday evening (with Darcy Grizzle). I have a couple of people interested in getting prints. I've gone as far as I know how in LR for editing, but need to know what I could/should do to improve this image for production. Thanks!
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
