The previous week we took a detour for a day to both the south and north rims of the Grand Canyon while on our way to Vegas for some desert racing (a whole other story). I had been to the South Rim but my racing partner had never been so the RV took a detour that Sunday evening to the park...

This is one from the archives, back in 2009 of an approaching storm at the Grand Canyon. I think this was around Lipan Point. It was a storm that brought the kind of lightning that everyone had to retreat back to their vehicles as hair was standing on end, etc.

This is an old one from 2005 from the Grand Canyon that I stumbled across. Dappled light in the canyon has never really given me any photos that I thought turned out well. This was the exception.

It's amazing how much...
This is from a couple of days ago. Passing through the Grand Canyon I had hoped to use the moon when it got low in the sky to help light up the canyon and get some stars and perhaps the Milky Way in the process. The moon was getting to be almost full, so there was no seeing the Milky Way until...

Hi, I just got back from a long trip went down to the Grand Canyon and up to Moab ending my trip in CO. It was a super cold morning but so worth the bone chilling cold.
CC welome!
I just added a series of 3 blog postings (just scroll down - they are the first 3 posts you come to) for my Trip the the North Rim this past summer. My over all site is still a work in progress. But, hope to post more regularly when we "retire" in the next year
It is interesting how a lot of times it takes a while for an image to "grow" on me. There are files I haven't worked ever, and then 10 years later I like them. This one isn't quite that extreme, but taken last August.
A7R and Zeiss 80-200mm, single image. And it looks crooked, but the level on...
One from a few years back in the Grand Canyon. Outside of the Blue Ridge Mountains I think the Grand Canyon is one of the greatest places for photos that include layers.
