Last fall on day 1 the weather was good at Maroon bells (met Jim Fox there), next day was this! Can't complain, mother nature always gift us with something!
I enjoy shooting the Maroon Bells despite the crowds that gather there. But I also like getting back behind the lake and shooting compositions that don't include the Bells. I have found that there are ton's of other great shots, it just requires hiking a little bit.

Thankfully almost everyone thinks that Maroon Bells can only be shot at sunrise! While there can be a 500 people at sunrise, there won't be 50 people there at sunset, in fact often there may only be 5 of us or so. It was a sunset here that I met @Shibu George and his brother.
So, I enjoy...
While the moon was lowering in the sky towards the Maroon Bells peaks, the Milky Way was making it's appearance known peaking out behind a light layer of clouds. This is a 1 shot image, with the peaks and gfall colors being lit up by the moon.

We are all so familiar with fall colors at Maroon Bells, that I had decided I wanted to specifically shoot it with wildflowers instead of fall colors. So I made a few trips there and this is one of the ones I liked.

My brother finally got me up to Aspen. The first day there we went up to Maroon Lake late in the afternoon.
Storm clouds were dropping a dusting of snow in the higher elevations. With the fall color fairly well along, though not at peak, yet, I really liked the contrasts.
C&C most welcome.
