Yesterday I posted a color shot taken a bit later when the sunrise color was at it's best. Still gray at this point so a B&W conversion was in order. I think the lone kayak fisherman makes it.
This was the first morning I had my iPhone 13 Pro out shooting landscapes. I was quite happy with the results, but have just now finished processing some of the shots from the A7rII and thought the comparisons might be fun to share. None are exact duplicates, this comparison wasn't planned at...
Glorious Morning is from my Naturally Abstract collection and was composed at Hopeland Gardens in Aiken, SC. I have wanted to capture a morning glory for several years now, but they can be quite difficult to frame in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. If you place the focal point on the...
Here's another shot from pretty much the same vantage point as the one in my recent Arbusigny Sunrise post, just taken a little later in the morning on my way back from my walk.

I really like the shapes of the distant hills...
I found these plants at the edge of a field the other morning at dawn and had fun creating these as the sun rose. The plants were only 12-20 inches tall so I had the camera on the ground to get this perspective.

From last week's walk. I had a larger, wider crop for this originally but ended up focusing in on these trees which were silhouetted nicely against the morning sky. Then I noticed there was that bird in that one farthest to the left :) C&C welcome.

This is a different edit of the same tree photo I posted in Landscape recently but which I thought also looked nice like this with a pulled-back crop to show the layers of mist in the field. In B&W the rays falling next to the tree jump to the eye more readily as well. Actually I guess these...
Hi all, I revisited some photos I took one misty morning last October here in France. My husband and I were heading out early on a 6-hour roadtrip. One minute down the road, I noticed this field filled with mist, so I made us stop so I could take pictures for a good 20-30 minutes. He made good...
The color was not great at sunrise, but shortly after the sun started hitting the clouds and giving a nice soft gold tone to a lot of the clouds. It made for a very pleasant morning. This is from Dallas Divide in Colorado, from a week ago.

This was from this morning in Crested Butte Colorado, we had some really sweet sunrise colors but this is after the colors had faded, but it was still just a fresh peaceful morning left to enjoy.

The light on the golden tree at the river's bend attracted me to this spot in the first place. I worked many angles looking for compositions (the boon & bane of droning), this was my favorite.

It seems a few members have or are getting drones. Hopefully some of you will start...
Nine shots (3 rows of 3) with my Sony A7rII resulted in this 2.5 GB pano - morning view east to Glacier Pk. from the top of Mt. Pilchuck. Click through to see larger.
