Something from this spring...an old favorite area. It's an Instagram thing these days and what was once a by yourself thing is now out and found out. I fear that it might be loved to death and destroyed, C.
A recent video from out at Joshua Tree on the morning after an all night Perseids Meteor photography. Before leaving I wanted to walk around the wonderland of rocks as there are so many shapes and sizes out there.

This is my first post on this site. Jim Fox suggested that I might want to. I've seen some really nice images on this site. This particular image is from my recent trip to the Bisti which I have been visiting for the last 15 years or so, C.
My wife and I had never been to this beach in southern Oregon before our recent trip. Nice place, not many people, and supposed to be good for finding agates (Debbie found one).
Mid morning light led me to convert to B&W.
My wife and I were X-skiing at Lake Wenatchee yesterday. Just brought my iPhone since we were cruising in the trees except for this one view point of the lake.
I got this on a solo trip into ski the north side of Mt. Adams a few years ago. I camped here, up at tree line, and got some good shots, but the mosquitoes were terrible and I only had a bivy sack without netting, so suffered through a hot afternoon. I've now learned my lesson and carry a nice...
This little falls and wonderful bathing hole is found in the center of the nature trail loop at Deception Falls on Hwy 2 near Stevens Pass WA. It is a beautiful shady place with great views of the Skykomish river, easy enough for kids and agile grannies (both were with me yesterday).
The first...
My wife and I stopped for a two nights in the Alabama Hills between Death Valley trips into Eureka Dunes (came back out and drove around to avoid the long rough road south) and the southern section.
I had a drone disaster the first morning, which I'll write up in a separate thread. Next time...
I went out to Joshua Tree on Saturday to set up and do my first Deep Space Astrophotography. Things went pretty well, it was learning steps throughout the night, but I was able to capture the Orion Nebula and I was really happy in the end. The quality of it wasn't enough to finish processing and...
What a way to start a year and a decade. Out of nowhere those red, pink stripes of light started to take place in the sky for more than half an hour. What do you think about the composition? and in general?
The Focus this Friday will be on Rocks.
So please add your Landscape Photos that focus on Rocks to this thread.
I will start with one from Joshua Tree National Park.

I spent more time flying the drone since I hadn't gotten out with it for a while, but this shot with my RX100 IV, low down by the river working the reflections is my favorite of the day.
In the previous thread I replayed to Alan (great photo IMHO) about taking a photo at midday light but I myself lost again and surrendered to that magic light yesterday at my hometown beach. To be honest I was so happy to be there after a while. C&C are welcome as always.
The view down the ridge from my bivy spot on Mt. Pilchuck last week. I wasn't psyched about sunrise when I woke up to clear skies, but the mountains made their own clouds as the sun warmed the air, eventually enveloping me in fog.
I was a bit bummed to find a group of young people already camped in Mt. Pilchuck's summit lookout on a Monday evening, but I know a good spot on a side ridge where I headed to drop my sleeping bag. Worked out great in the end - a new perspective, and the kids scrambled out onto the ridge...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
