This is from last week. One of my main goals driving back to California from Colorado was to be able to do some Deep Space Astro. I had hoped for 2 nights, but I got 1 night when I was at Joshua Tree shooting the Perseids Meteors. It was a bit hectic running out into the desert to place 2 of my...
I caught this down on Molas Pass south of Silverton in SW CO. I have not shot Deep Space Astro from there before, but knowing that area (It's one of my favorites) and knowing how dark it gets at night, I figured it would be a really good dark sky to shoot deep space in. The problem was the moon...
I went out to Joshua Tree National Park in an area that is Bortle 3 to capture this. The Rosette is one I have captured before, but it never gets old. It's easy for me to get too picky when processing this when comparing this to all of the great Astro we have posted here. But for an unmodified...
I captured this a week ago out in Death Valley. I had a bit of a moon to deal with, but not much. My biggest issue was the wind. I parked my Jeep in such a way to use it as a wind break to try and limit the amount of wind hitting it, but the wind would gust into the 20 to 30mph range. So it...
It was too cold in Colorado to go out during the full moon to do Deep Space Astro in December, but I knew I would be back in California in January. So off to Joshua Tree I ran on Thursday afternoon so I could set up my gear and do some DSO Astro which I hadn't been able to do in a couple of...
The travels are blurring together a bit this summer now, but this was taken from the Dallas Divide outside of Ridgway Colorado. It's most famous for all of the fall colors taken there in the fall, but now that I have gotten into Deep Space Astro I have found it has remarkedly clear skies there...
This was from a month ago out in Joshua Tree National Park. I have a favorite little spot to set up there that has almost the whole sky open to shoot.
I gave up on processing this one at least twice over the last month. It's a super faint Nebula, it's one you can't see by eye or see in the...
This was taken 3 weeks ago in February but I just got to start processing this. I probably spent about 8 hours on this one. There was quite a few total restarts on this, mainly from the Starnet++ program that removes stars. I would run the program but not really like the artifacts that it could...
This is the Andromeda Galaxy M31. It's one of the ones I took longer images of last week to get more detail in them at Joshua Tree which is a Bortle 3 sky (Pretty Dark).
It's a rushed editing job with my mom in the hospital, but I wanted to get a go at this one since I didn't like my earlier...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
