Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon have a sibling canyon, it's Canyon X. It's a few miles further then Antelope but I was told it's part of the same drainage.
I highly recommend Canyon X. As great as Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon is, Canyon X is even better! For one, they still offer a...
This is from Upper Antelope Canyon a few weeks back. It can feel like you don't know for sure which way is up with the sand and small rocks anchoring the lower right. Part of the fun of shooting at 14mm in there.
While they no longer have Photo tours there, the group sizes were pretty small...
This is from New Mexico, not too far from Santa Fe. It's an area called Tent Rock, I forget the Indian Name. It's a cool area with Tent shaped rocks, but what I really liked was the slot canyon there. In this one, it's a bit more open and you can see the sky. I had kind of wished for overcast...
This is several years old and has always been one of my favorites from Lower Antelope. The name came from the hole in the upper left, that always struck me as kind of an eye in the canyon. It always bothered me that it was blown out but I thought it worked within this image.
I was looking...
Haven't really been out shooting much lately, even though I "upgraded" a ton of my gear.
This was taken in March on trip with some buddies. This slot I am unsure why I waited all this time to visit, but it is not the easiest to maneuver in. Rope is needed to down climb. Lots of water this year...
This is from Antelope Canyon, one I had found in my archives that I had never processed. It's fun going through the archives, though now I want to go back to Antelope Canyon to shoot it again with a mind that has 12 more years of experience.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
Headed out to southern Utah Thanksgiving weekend. Wanted to get back into here, and it was a bit crowded (which is good and bad). Last time I was here, I shot this exact spot with a 17mm lens. Widest I have right now is my C/Y 35-70 3.4 *T. I am surprised I could capture this at 35mm!
Shot...
This is from a less traveled slot canyon near Page, Arizona. It still required paying for a tour but our group of six had the canyon to ourselves. Not as impressive as Antelope, but plenty of neat shapes to explore
Any thoughts are welcome.
After a lot of research I still was conflicted about going to Antelope Canyon. Of course the images I'd seen were beautiful, and a college of mine, Bruce Barnbaum, was one of the first photographers to discover it. Reading about the crowds, $$ for the photo tours, and contsraints to keep with a...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
