2 different styles go black and white images

I was in the mood to do some mono processing today. Firstly a grungy contrasty image of Saint Conan's Kirk in Western Scotland.

In a softer mood I went for the minimalist "fine art" look. I will experiment further with this style of image. Every time I alter the luminosity and contrast in this image I like the altered one. This usually means that I need to halt and come back to this. All comments welcome. Ken

I would argue that both approaches have their place and you have a good pair of examples why this is true. The dark and grungy processing you used for Saint Conan's Kirk is perfect for that scene but would feel out of place with the scene in the second image.

I like both , that first one could be the image for the batman movie ! For me though the second one is my favorite, its more abstract. Nice attention to detail

Both are awesome Ken, but #1 is my favorite. Wow! What a mood in it. That first one looks like something out of an early 1900's horror movie.
