I have been enjoying these guys at a small wooded area near me. When I first entered I thought the sounds I was hearing was some type of bird, but now know it is them warning each other of my presence. Working on my hide skills as I usually only get a couple of photographs in before they spot me and the gig is up!

Cute shot. I am used to the invasive gray squirrels that have moved into urban areas and are more used to people. I like the colors on the native species.

Hey Roger, it's funny, I used to think the same thing that the sound I was hearing was from a bird. But then realized after a while it was from squirrels.

Good job on the capture as they can be quick.

Nice shot Roger. I have also been fooled into thinking a bird was close. I have even been frustrated when the the Merlin Bird ID could not tell me what bird was so close and it didn't recognize the sound. Not the first (or last) time technology has been smarter than me.
