This is Wray Castle built in 1846 as a holiday home for an incredibly rich couple. The weather wasn't doing photography any favours. Ken

We went for a cruise on Windermere and passed this upmarket Hotel $700 for a room for the night, just a little outside of my price range. We didn't bother stopping for afternoon tea at $70 per person

Very interesting Ken! That hotel is out of my price range as well. But that is really cool to look at.

Going on the cruise sure sounds like fun. I don't do those often, but it is really neat to do.

i'm sorry you had to slum it for your trip. gorgeous castles, though i find the placement of the clock in the second photo a little odd. i'll pay to add a clock into the stonework, but place it somewhere where you have to look hard to see it.
