A hike up into the James Peak Wilderness yesterday was a great wildflower hike. The main one that I was looking for was the bog orchids. Most were still partially if not fully closed, but there were 2 that were flowering.
I think that this is a White mitrewort, Mitella stauropetela.
I'd hoped to be able to explore a few ridges to the south, but clouds were moving in. My dog & I beat it back to the trailhead, 4 miles and around 2700' vertical away. We were 1/2 mile from the trailhead when it started raining. I didn't want to stop to put on rain gear as we were so close, but as the rain came down harder, I decided it was worth it.
