Thanks to some good fortune and a "Pitta whisperer", we saw these generally elusive birds.

These look like like awfully small birds compared to their surroundings. You must be carrying a pretty big lens to get shots that look as close as some of the captures shown above - especially the shot of the Ochre-breasted Antpitta.

They are small except the Giant Antpitta. Used a 150-400 w/built-in 1.25x TC. We were within 10-15 yds of most.
