Baby Elephant Arch

As I was leaving Valley of Fire this morning after a night of using my Smart telescope, testing out a new small tracker, and a couple of cameras just capturing the night sky, I spotted what looked like a Baby Elephant Arch by the East Entrance station. I drove past thinking I can return another time as I was up all night it still have 12 hours to drive to get to my daughters house.

But I immediately made a I-turn, parked and ran the 1/4 mile out to go visit the little elephant.

These are with my iPhone 17 Pro since I am traveling.

Good eye on spotting the baby elephant formation. I have shot the well known one several times and some of the small arches near the east entrance but never have spotted the one you just posted.

Thanks Trent! I have been so focused on Disneyland and doing livestreams from there that I think my body went into withdrawal cravings for the outdoors. :)

Thanks Alan!

I too have captured Elephabt Arch many times. But I had never noticed all of the arches by the East entrance. I typically come in and exit to the West. I found dozens upon dozens of arches on that small little area. So that's going to be high on my list to explore more next time. It's fun to discover new things about a location.

Interesting formations. I have never been around the east entrance. Something to keep in mind if I happen to visit again.

Thanks Jameel. I have been to Elephant Arch a bunch, but not really by the entrance station which is actually only about 1/2 mile away. So it's crazy I have missed that.
