A Chamois is a goat- antelope native to the mountainous parts of Southern Europe. Hunted for both its meat and skin. I have old cycling shorts with a genuine chamois insert and used to have a window cleaning chamois. Ken

I always thought chamois was a generic name for leather that was processed in a specific way and until now had no clue it was a species of goat. I have had pieces of chamois for with window/car cleaning as well as cycling shorts as well. Nice shot of this critter BTW.
