Classic Still Life

Seems this thread has become a bit busier. Some very interesting closeup work the past few days.

I'm a big fan of Still life photography and I like to experiment with lighting and composition. I know it's not the most popular subject -- product photography is the payoff.

For this shot, I used a SV LED lamp plus a snoot. The snoot had an internal diffuser (parchment paper) and a grid to contain the light & bring out shadows & textures. A silver reflector on the right for a bit of fill. I also typically do some post work and add a bit of vignetting. This one seemed to need a splash of color too.

This may not pay the bills but that doesn't detract from the fact that you did a really good job with the ceramics here. I like the arrangement of the subject as well as the lighting and processing. It's a scene my eyes want to linger on.......

I really like your still life Darryl.

I like how you set this up and how you photographed it. I always admire this type of still life work, but just never remember to try it. One day I will!

I like how younplaced tge different elements and the lighting. The black background isolates the subject. Very well done.
