This is from a few weeks ago in Yellowstone National Park and Black Sand Basin. My granddaughter Makenna and I were making our way around it and it was later in the afternoon and from one angle I saw the sun had poked through the incoming clouds and really lit up the geyser. I exposed for the highlights as we normally do in these situations and saw the rest of the image going pretty dark. But I wasn't concerned since I knew I could pull out shadow detail when processing.
But when I saw the image to process it, I actually liked this straight out of the camera (SOOC) look so I left it alone. I did a little minor processing and cropping, but this is pretty much how my Nikon captured it.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
