Creek Meets River

I really like this view Alan. The way the creek is curving around is really cool.
Thanks Jim - there's no view of where Sweet Creek drains into the Siuslaw from the ground so it was nice to finally see the from the air. Almost all of the land on this side of the river is private and posted but happily the air isn't. This is directly up from the spot just over Sweet Creek where I shot and posted an image of the lone big leaf maple down by the bend in the creek and the roadway a couple of weeks ago.

A bird’s eye view has certainly taken a new meaning seen all the beautiful drone images posted on FocalWorld—particularly in this case. Great image of all the curvy blues and greens in this composition. Very nice.

Thanks John - I have been driving the road on the right side of this scene since 2017 to get up to the waterfall trail along Sweet Creek but until I sent my drone up in the air here last fall had never seen where the creek dumps into the river and had no idea it took such a curvy path from that road to the river. We don't have a lot of viewpoints in the Pacific NW to really see the overall terrain given all the tree cover so flying a drone as a camera viewpoint has been a real eye opener for me. The views have made it worthwhile to spend money to get one with good cameras so I can get good photos of scenes I will never see from the ground.
